These are the custom to your spec, Michigan Metal Works Conversion arms for the 47-59 trucks running an S-10 front suspension.  People have been swapping 47-53 truck bodies onto S-10 frames for quite time time now, and up until now they have been forced to run 2.5" to 3" wheels spacers to make the track width wide enough to fill the fenders, and clear the motor properly, but now you finally have a better option, and can throw those stupid wheel spacers in the garbage.

The MMW conversion arms are made in widths from 1.5" to 3" wider PER SIDE and forward .750, to allow you to run a very wide variety of wheel sizes and offsets, and still tuck them in side the fenders.  Dont know exactly which arm size you need?  if your running wheels that would work on a standard S10, choose the 2.5" per side option, and you will be good to go!  Frame modifications may be necesary when running narrower arms such as our 1.5" or 1" versions, as well as use of a lower bag spacer to get bag to the proper location.

The MMW conversion arms are designed to bolt to the factory S10 frame, and run a wide variety brand of drop spindles and accept a wide variety of brake swaps and upgrades.   A great feature for people wanting air suspension on their trucks, is that the MMW conversion arms are designed to have the shock mounts in board on the lower control arm up through the upper control arm and mounting to the frame.  This design helps in a number of ways, first being that you are freeing up all the room from side to side of the lower arm to allow full turning radius at any height of the suspension, and it allow the shock mount to move further out towards the spindle which helps control the suspension better, and provides a much smoother ride, and to top it all off, it looks GREAT!

We offer this conversion package in two main versions, Jeebus Joint version (Pictured as black)  and Budget Version (pictured as red).  The Jeebus Joint version will use our extremely strong and versatile custom upper pivots as a replacment for a standard ball joint, giving you a much longer life span, and a joint that is designed for suspension travel.  The budget version uses standard K5208 Ball joints as the upper pivot.  Each set comes with the following features standard:

  • -Set of Upper Control arms, with upper bushings designed to be used with OEM style upper cross shafts
  • -Set of Lower Control arms, with bushings, and bolt sleeves, as well as a slotted adjustment lower bag mount, and lower shock mount built into the arm.
  • -All hardware necessary for installation

  Raw Metal control arms will arrive with ONLY the Jeebus Joint installed completely  but with no other bushings installed, so that you can coat them prior to assembly with your choice of paint or powder, and then fully assemble.   Please make sure you use the proper lubrication on the inside AND outside of the bushing when installing, for a long squeek free life.  

All the options for this control arm package are located to the right of the screen.   Upgrading to Tube Construction automatically gives you Jeebus Joints , so please do not select both!  Arms that are made only 1.5" longer then stock ARE NOT elidgable for tube construction, the jigs will not allow it.  Frame modification MAY be necessary around the mounting ear area on for the upper control arm, and for the inboard shock placment, minimal would be required, but it will depend on the length you choose as to how much will be necessary to get necessary fitment and lift.  Coil over arms are ONLY available in flat plate version, NOT tubular and will require use of Ride Tech brand coil overs, and are setup for a standard amount of 2" drop spindles and a 6" drop overall up front (spindles and coil overs combined)  If you are not going that low, please note that in your order so we can adjust accordingly.  Ball Joint cup modification may be necessary for wheel sizes smaller then 18" depending on wheen offset, and arm lengthen amount, please address this need  BEFORE ordering or powder coat.  Due to the number of options and varriables considered when construction these arms, your recieved product may not reflect what is pictured on our wesbsite at all times, as we frequestnly are improving design and style to make the arms stronger and easier to produce.  for any questions, please feel free to email us at info@michiganmetalworks.com
